Festival History ◊ 2007 ◊ Awards 

The Dragon*Con Independent Short Film Festival presented awards for first place (chosen from 3 finalists) in each of 15 categories: Animated Comedy, Animated Drama, Animated Horror, Animated Fantasy & Science Fiction, Action & Suspense, Asian-Themed, Comedy, Dark Comedy, Fantasy, Horror, Horror Comedy, Parody, Magic Realism, Science Fiction, Short Shorts.

Best Animated Short was chosen from the 1st place winners in the four animated categories.  Best Short Film was chosen from the 1st place winners in the eleven live-action categories.  An Honorable Mention was given to the film that, due to intense competition, did not place first in its category.

Additionally, we presented five awards determined by the audience.  The Filmmaker's Choice award was given to the film receiving the most votes from attending filmmakers.  The remaining four awards were voted on by the audience in general, and as the processes used for figuring festival audience awards can never stand up to rigorous inspection, we took things light from the start.  The voting for these none-too-serious awards had no rules, and yet the results certainly made sense to us.
