Short Film Festival ◊ 2009

2009 was another year filled with excellent films and engaging panels, including:

• The Short Film festival included 84 of the best films of the fantastic. For 2009 there were ghosts in need of marriage counseling, kung-fu babies, a winged man, red-neck zombie hunters, a sociopathic dentist, an angst-ridden superhero, an action hero that just keeps getting it wrong. Death took on babysitting duties, the undead joined a Canadian curling league, and a pair of nude strangers traveled in an enchanted bathtub. There were performances by Patrick Warburton, Tim Curry, Mark Hamill, Lance Henriksen, Jim Belushi, Joey Fatone, Doug Bradley, and Ted Raimi.  

• 4 feature screenings: the quirky vampire story The Death of Alice Blue,  the animated post-apocalyptic Hellscape From Inside, the zombie comedy George's Intervention, and the partly animated documentary Mythic Journeys.

• 19 panels, including a complete seminar on the fundamentals of digital filmmaking.
